The youngest artist you see in this picture today is our beloved “Shan”, a very talented boy studying in 8th standard in British Curriculum. He is British born. In the drama he will play the role of the child Kazi Nazrul Islam. Apart from acting, he will sing a war song accompanied by a dance performance by Mohammad Dweep.

Shan’s mother Salma is a musician, and she is accompanied by little Nazrul. I want everyone to buy tickets and come to Richmix to see Shan’s debut.

On my right is another person who is a British born Bangladeshi who has a strong interest in Bengali music. He understands Bengali very well but speaking it is a little difficult. He will be playing a very important character in this play. His name is Wasim Nawaz and he is doing ever so well in the role of the great Rabrindanath Tagore, when he does not come to the stage, he will be missed. He is currently doing many kinds of studies on drama which will enrich this play. He will be seen talking to me several times on the stage. We are all very optimistic about him.

On my left is the Scottish stage artist, who is skilled in many aspects including British drama, singing, dancing, Brian Maitland is the central character of this play, he is Bara Kazi Nazrul Islam. He will perform a Bengali Nazrul song. We are learning many things from him on the stage, and he is also giving us many tips about the voice. He will gift the audience with such beautiful dialogues.

If you don’t go and see it, you will not believe how wonderful his performance is. I will also be seen with him on the stage. I think many people will know Nazrul well from his performance.

Our creative director, Piya Mayenin is also a British born and educated lawyer. Having completed a first class in music (Bhavan) and other renowned Gurus, she has also studied stage management and directing. For each character, she has selected renowned artists from across the country who will act, dance and sing to tell a story, which no one has done before. All of us artists are proud to be in the presence of a talented person like her. We will prove on the stage that she is creating artists with such care. We are blessed to have been directed by her.
